Careers at MITX Marketing Manager Position Available
The Marketing Manager is responsible for the strategy and implementation of marketing, communication and promotional strategies for MITX. This specifically includes broader organization marketing, membership marketing, market research and analysis and developing partnerships. The Manager will also be involved in special projects that relate to the organization’s strategic initiatives.
Key Components of this position include:
- Marketing Communications
Oversee marketing communications process including development of marketing/sales collateral, proposals, web sites, email newsletters and general PR outreach. Manage one staff person to help execute on these initiatives. - Market Research & Analysis
Build an understanding of the membership, characteristics and needs through surveys, data gathering and analysis to develop programs in conjunction with Membership department. Analyze event survey data and develop survey initiatives to provide direction and recommendations for future events and programs. - Database Management
Responsible for managing data, specifically ACT contact database and email list management to better utilize data for membership and marketing initiatives. - Social Media
Develop and execute strategy to better harness social media outlets. - Partnerships
Develop and manage partnerships with associations & organizations. - Vendor Management
Develop and maintain alliance relationships specific to design firms and technology vendors who provide pro bono services. Manage external vendors including PR agency, design firms and others.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business required
- Minimum of 4-6 years of prior relevant experience at related level in the marketing or communications field, including proven business management and leadership skills
- Understanding of the internet business & marketing industry
- Superior writing skills
- Excellent oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to develop deep knowledge of industry specific resources (e.g. community organizations, publications, and related professionals) for the region
- Experience with using social media as a communications tool
- Ability to manage and oversee multiple projects and timelines to consistently deliver high quality results; keen attention to detail
- Highly motivated, quick learner with a "roll up the sleeves" approach and attention to detail.
Intern Positions Available
Interns play an integral role at the organization. They are given a lot of responsibilities in many different capacities. Outlined below are the areas in which interns can assist the organization:
- Marketing
MITX Interns assist Marketing in a variety of capacities - email newsletter development, email marketing campaigns, list scrubbing, list generation and overall maintenance of email newsletters. Interns will also assist in outbound communications efforts to trade magazines and web sites to promote MITX events. - Events
MITX Interns assist the Program Manager in all aspects of event planning and helping at events. MITX hosts on average 3-4 events per month, which provides interns with an immediate network of potential professional contacts. MITX encourages all of its interns to take advantage of the network. - Membership Development
MITX Interns can work with the Membership Development Manager to assist in developing sales prospecting lists, preparing and sending materials to potential prospects, database maintenance and ongoing communications to prospects and renewing members.
