Thirteenth Annual MITX Awards Recognize New England's Best Interactive Technology Achievements


Largest Regional Competition of Its Kind to Recognize Winners at Awards Gala on November 19

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX) today announced the finalists of its thirteenth annual awards competition, recognizing achievements in the development and implementation of interactive technologies in New England. The awards will be presented on Wednesday, November 19 at 6 p.m. at the Boston Marriott Copley Place.

The MITX Awards finalists include a diverse number of companies in the Internet business and marketing industries. The 127 award finalists competed in 33 categories in vertical industries as well as interactive campaigns ranging from biotechnology/pharmaceuticals to travel and tourism as well as interactive marketing campaigns using tactics such as mobile, search and social media.

Categories included; applied technology; best brand campaign; best direct response campaign; best integrated campaign; best use of mobile; best use of search; best use of social media; best use of sponsorship; best use of video; biotechnology/

pharmaceuticals; consumer goods; corporate training and support; education and learning; educational institution; entertainment/sports; financial services; health & fitness; kids, tweens & teens; media; mobile; non profit & government; online commerce; professional services; real estate; rich internet application; technology; travel, tourism, and hospitality; and Web 2.0 and social networking.

Last year, more than 1,000 digital marketing, media and technology professionals came out to see the best work being done in New England. This years awards will honor the best interactive work created by and for some of the most recognizable brands and companies in the world. Overall, this years finalists stood out among an increasing number of high-quality nominations representing improvements in how technology is being used to enhance the user experience via interactive communications strategies.

Begun in 1996, the MITX awards have grown to the largest and most prestigious Web innovation awards competition in the country, celebrating the best creative and technological accomplishments emerging from New England. The judging committee is comprised of more than 100 distinguished individuals from various disciplines, including members of the media, industry analysts, academia, creative directors, chief technology officers, webmasters, developers, producers, content providers and marketing executives and strategists.
